Hey, that’s me!

As you probably assumed by the orgy of self-indulgence that is this blog, I write poetry. I feel like I’m pretty good at it… well, at least I feel that way during the moments that punctuate my general feeling that I’m not very good at it at all. But, I suppose those moments are common enough for me to try halfheartedly to “get my work out there,” by sending poems to a couple small presses a month and then grousing about how they’re assholes for never emailing me back. I’ve taken matters into my own hands a couple of times by self-publishing chapbooks and giving them away for free, and I’ve generally found that to be a rewarding process, and one that is likely to continue.

My last chapbook had a name that I really liked, until that name also became the name of a MyspaceTV show about stupid losers I couldn’t care less about… and then I was kind of embarrassed. But I still think it’s a good name. There were only 20 copies printed, which makes it like, umm, some sort of collectory item or something. I would consider printing a 2nd edition if there were any interest whatsoever in such a project (there isn’t).

I may use the comments section of this page to post some poems that I’ve written or that I’m working on, unless it gets too clogged up with people telling me how much they like me (if it gets clogged up with people telling me how much they hate me, you goddamn better believe that I’ll add to the clog with more of my drivel).

UPDATE: It looks like I will be getting a poem published in the next edition of the broadside compilation “Concrete Meat Sheet.”  That’s rad.
